The current Curriculum in PPGZ is comprised by an Area of Study (Animal Production) and six Research Lines:

• Evaluation of production, management and conservation of native and cultivated forages;
• Evaluation of feedstuffs and feeding of ruminants and non-ruminants;
• Animal production systems in the Northeastern Brazil;
• Nutritional requirements for ruminants and non-ruminants;
• Behavior and performance of ruminants and non-ruminants; and
• Evaluation of animal products. 

The average time for the Masters is 24 months. Students are required to complete at least 24 credits in disciplines, including four obligatory (Biochemistry, Seminar, Research Methodology and Experimental Statistics). There are 20 other disciplines (4 credits each) and "Special Topics", which include specific knowledge for each Research line and that present opportunities of integration with other research groups from Brazil and other countries.
