The Graduate Program in Decision Models and Health (PPGMDS), currently rated 6 by CAPES, has an interdisciplinary nature, involving fields from the Exact and Health Sciences, composed of faculty from the Departments of Statistics, Computer Science, Clinical Nursing, Physiotherapy, Physiology and Pathology, Speech Therapy, Nutrition, Social Dentistry and Health Promotion. It offers a Master's program, approved by CAPES in 2008, and a Doctoral program, authorized in 2009, focusing on Decision Models and Health, with two lines of research: Decision Models (research on information processing in various health areas, including the proposition and use of mathematical, statistical, and computationally intelligent models to support decision-making, developing applications using these models) and Health Models (case studies and situations in Public Health, where there is a need for decision-making on information and/or data, whether qualitative or quantitative, as well as research and use of models for management, analysis, and decision-making). Its Master's and Doctoral programs aim to train professionals focused on understanding and acting within the Brazilian reality, aiming to contribute to solving the main health problems affecting the population, both from the perspective of health management and care and in terms of training workers in this field and teaching in higher education. The Program conducts its annual selection process for admission.
